Dr Dolores Conroy Dolores has a degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in Pharmacology and spent her early career as a researcher studying the role of inflammation in asthma in Canada and in the UK. In 2004, she took the post of Principal Scientist at Mercia Pharma, working at Imperial College London for the next four years on the development of disease-specific immunotherapeutic vaccines for autoimmune and chronic diseases. In 2008, Dolores joined Fight for Sight where she became its first Director of Research shaping the charity's grant making strategy and overseeing its management. Since January 2018, Dolores has been the project manager for the ORNATE-India project at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, providing input into project direction and experimental design of the diabetic retinopathy studies in India. Dolores became a Trustee of the National Eye Research Centre in January 2019.
